July was… hectic

Hi Qtees :) How are you all doing? Can’t believe we’re already heading towards August! Believe it or not, we weren’t able to visit Mama & Papa QQ’s city for nearly 2 months…:( But as we’re wrapping up July, our schedule looks a bit less tight so we’re finally heading down to our parent’s place next week 🤍 Can’t wait to spend some quality time with them :)

One thing I truly enjoy about having this blog is that not only it’s another means for us to communicate with our Qtees but I also get to re-live the good memories while choosing and uploading the photos from my phone and writing about what’s happening in the photos. Ahhhh the good old days ☺️

This is me laying in bed at Dao by Dorsett Hotel in Singapore, savoring Puff Cheetos that our Singaporean Qtees gave us as a gift during the meet & greet. Seriously, our Qtees are the best 🥲 Sadly, it’s extremely difficult to find Puff Cheetos in Korea. I mean, we do have something kind of similar to Cheetos, but it’s way too sweet…!!! What we want is that savory and artificial-like cheese taste (if you know what I mean) haha 🧀 Right now we have 3 bags left and… I think we seriously need to go back to Singapore to get some more 😭

Oh! And we’ve successfully given all of our DIY bunny key chains to our friends in Singapore 🐰 Everyone LOVED IT!! And it made us so happy to see them being so excited and happy about it 🥹 All of our friends in Singapore are friends that we met through work. We first met via work and gradually became best friends 🤍 They always treat us with delicious food when we visit Singapore and we also treat them when they visit Korea. Sometimes it’s amazing and also feel so thankful to be able to meet so many kind and genuine people through our job. We’re thankful to be blessed with so many wonderful people in our lives 🫶🏻

Our latest obsession is a Korean designer brand called KIMHEKIM. We were invited to check out their new store in Cheongdam as well as their latest Spring Summer Resort collection. I’m assuming the focal point of the collection was a stripe, but this isn’t a printed stripe but an individual black and white stripe that has been sewn together to create one huge fabric for each garment!! Can you believe the amount of time that it must have taken to create each piece? Simply amazing…. I don’t think I’ll have the patience to do that… We’re especially in love with their large bow ballerina flats. These are absolutely our cup of tea 🎀

At the very top floor of the store, we were able to find a small private room that they’ve recreated to mimic a studio where KIMHEKIM designer first started as a designer. It was like picking through his old diaries, and being able to witness the creative process, which was absolutely fascinating! It was quite nostalgic too as it reminded us of our college life back in Los Angeles where we studied fashion design.

As our hair is getting longer, we’re experimenting more with how we can stylize our hair differently. These days, we have been curling our hair without heat by braiding our hair overnight 🌜And I just love the exaggerated curls we get! What do you think Qtees?

Just another day creating reels in a rental studio :) We have this love and hate relationship with IG reels. It’s one of the most stressful works for us as there are so many layers of preparation that need to be done to have the final reels ready to go live. The process is something like this:

  1. Brainstorm creative direction

  2. Get the creative direction confirmed by the brand

  3. Find and book a studio (at the same time have to check if the weather is sunny as we always shoot under natural sunlight. And this has been a major stressful factor as Korea is currently in monsoon season)

  4. Purchase necessary supplies for the shoot

  5. Think about the outfit, makeup, and hairstyle for the shoot

  6. Drive to the Studio (Usually takes about an hour to an hour and a half drive to the studio as they are mostly located north across the Han River)

  7. Shoot the reels (Normally takes 4~5hrs)

  8. Drive back home

  9. Edit the Reels

  10. Send the reels for confirmation

  11. If the brand wants revision, revision needs to be made ASAP

  12. Final confirmation

However, at the same time, I love how it pushes us to be more creative! Unlike photos, reels really challenge us to think outside of the box as we’re introducing a product to our Qtees not verbally but through visuals! And the result is so rewarding afterward, especially when our Qtees appreciate them so much 🥹 So, thank you Qtees for always cheering us up and appreciating the things we do on this internet 🥰

If you Qtees have watched our latest video, I made a loaf of bread from scratch, and oh boy… that was A LOT of work!! haha But one thing I love about cooking is that when I cook, I get to pause my thoughts for a while and just focus on cooking. I think it’s important that we all have a small hobby where we can take our minds off for a sec 🧠 What’s your hobby Qtees?

In our latest video, we took you Qtees to this cafe that is famous for its ‘Sofa Cake’ 🛋 It’s crazy how creative cafes are these days with their cakes and pastries!

By they way, love my ribbon tatoo that I got it from our Qtees in Singapore 🇸🇬 🥹

I forgot the name of this cafe, but it was a cafe owned by an owner from Germany. And this cheesecake was said to be made in German style. It was so delicious 🤤 Hopefully we can visit Germany one day and meet our German Qtees 🇩🇪 That’d be a dream come true 🤍

This is me being so happy while holding a gift that our Singaporean Qtees left at Lumio Beauty House for us to pick it up 🥹 And guess what! She not only came to our recent meet and greet in Singapore but we also met her at the Incheon airport on the day we were heading to Japan!! She was on her way back to Singapore :) What a coincidence! Thank you so much for the gifts Qtees 🥺

Well, that’s it for today Qtees :) I hope you enjoyed this blog and I’ll be back again with another post soon. Until then take care Qtees 🥰

xoxo,

QQ
